Notes
- The intro piano riff is unaccompanied
- Slash chords here show the piano voicing… the F/D shows the piano playing F maj in the right hand and holding a D octave in the bass. The Am is so close to the F – from bottom to top the F triad is F A C; the Am triad is E A C. (The melody note is on top, and always rises to D). Then back to F triad but with an F also in the bass.
- This turnaround riff is unaccompanied
- Mind the extra two measures morphing to the chorus
- The third repeat of F#m-G in the chorus are more forceful… think definitive and resolute.
- This turn around fill should be as a group, tightly syncopated.
- Same as note 4… but different chords resolving back to Cmaj in the Bridge.
- Drums do bell hits, bass descending G – D – B – G. The fermata symbol ͒ shows a pause here…
- Downshift here. Fourth to second. I spent a good half hour trying to decide between ritardando and rallentando, thought I’d decided on rit., but then rubato popped up in my mind… And so fukkit, I’m sticking with Downshift.
